There was a great deal of complaints about private prisons for years. As for Obama, or Trump for that matter, they have very little say about state level private prisons.

Better yet, it should be against federal law for states to outsource correctional facilities management and security.

Especially when they use this as an extra judicial weapon against prisoners. Marc Emory, from the west coast of Canada, who sold seeds online openly was put into a facility in Alabama, so visits were very tough for his wife. Our Just Us system is broken. Sessions doesn't help!
