Absolutely. Demanding background checks and a reasonable period of wait time before walking out with a gun is just sane. Of course, insanity seems to have taken over much of the American right.
On the topic of reasonable gun safety laws, the false choice that is being proffered everywhere is the choice that suggests you’re either in favor of the Second Amendment or you want to take everyone’s guns away. That’s a false choice and we have to reject it.

California does not allow straw purchase. All legal firearms purchase must be done through an FFL. Meaning in Ca all transactions are background checked and have a 10 day waiting period! Criminals who don’t follow this should be prosecuted further.

Actually they can already have as many muskets as they want as muzzleloading black powder guns are not considered to be firearms by the federal government and thus they are unregulated.
