As TX closed most of its abortion clinics the maternal death rate increased. A woman's life is in danger the minute they conceive.
-
I wish they'd start calling them women's health clinics; abortion is a small part of what they do & conservatives see them as nothing more.

IMHO It's the result of an environment/culture of not listening to black women. They raise issues drs./educators aren't hearing &R dismissed

As a school teacher I had to work hard to understand my black, female students. They face different issues in home and school than expected

700 deaths out of nearly 4 million births. That’s 0.0175% of all births. I think we’re doing pretty good as a nation on pregnancy health.

As explained in the article, the maternal mortality rate in the USA is about _3 times_ higher than rates in many other countries (e.g. Canada). And maternal mortality rates in most of the USA have _doubled_ in the past 30 years. We are not doing "pretty good as a nation".
