You are exactly right! We made a good mistake with the War on Drugs in the 1980s. Let's learn from it, and handle this accordingly!
Opioid abuse deserves to be treated as a public health matter, instead of locking people up who suffer from substance abuse.

They should legalize it. The tax revenue ALONE would help with the deficit! People are going to do it anyway. Personally I think it's fine.
