Does "smart" on crime mean we can't be "tough" on crime? Ur leaning seems 2B: we shouldn't hold ppl accountable that break the law. Clarify?
We’ve been offered a false choice about the criminal justice system. We are either tough on crime or soft on crime—I say be smart on crime.

Smart on crime means being tough where it's needed but not every case has to be pursued with that tough mentality. Look at all options.
