We need also to remember that opioids are not de facto evil. For people with chronic pain, people like me, they are necessary.

Differentiate stats to separate opioids into actual pills & heroin/fentanyl etc. Lumping them together skews the data & public opinion.

Some people with severe chronic pain turn to heroin because it's not that hard to get. They do so only after their doc stops writing scripts

Addiction needs to be addressed w/o making it impossible for those w/ chronic pain who truly need opioids / pain management to get them.

I have multiple sclerosis & I'm allergic to ibuprofen & naproxen (Advil & Aleve). Max dose of Tylenol doesn't even make a dent in my pain.
