How did this happen? House Republicans attached so-called “poison pill” amendments to the Zika funding plan.
In short, Republicans put politics before the best interests of millions of Americans. It was an irresponsible and dangerous move.

When Congress reconvenes after Labor Day, I hope the GOP does the right thing and allows for a clean vote on Zika funding ASAP.
