I went to school in 1960s and 70s. The majority of my teachers were Black. After getting a college degree I obtained two master's degrees and a law degree. After 36 years as an Attorney/CPA, I retired and became a math teacher in an urban school system. Yes, role models count.

If they have a black teacher in their junior and senior year who is an advocate for them - they are likely to graduate. I know - I graduated all my seniors....

@Doinglifeeasily congratulations! My wife works in education & I’ve seen advocacy make a big difference in the success of students of color. I recently heard about some success in the Chicago school district at improving graduation rates by improving the system. Keep it up!
