If anyone happens to be following this,
@British_Airways did message me and at first said there was never a refund requested then after I gave them the exact time of my two phone calls, they happen to find the records. I still do not have my refund.

Please wait until the airline cancels your flight. You WILL get a refund. If YOU cancel your trip/flight under the rules of the ticket you bought they will offer you a voucher they are not required to give you a refund Read the fine print on your ticket purchase

Not necessarily true. The airline cancelled my flight and gave me a voucher for a future flight.
