It would be important to broaden the terminological use of this. Sure it is used for birth control, but it is used for treating endometriosis too. For women, this is critical, not frivolous. Too many men, stuck in a time long gone, think this is used only by “promiscuous” women.

Women are often prescribed birth control pills for irregular or absent menstrual periods, menstrual cramps, acne, PMS, endometriosis, Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). These are medical conditions requiring treatment.
