We already have that in NYC but what we really need is a rent and mortgage FREEZE. Because otherwise when the pandemic is over we will still owe back rent for the time we weren’t able to go to work

Same - my bank will let me be late with payments, but at the end of 3 months I will owe a balloon payment of all 3. So not much help there.

Any mortgage assistance to landlords/multi-family property management companies MUST come with equal assistance/protection for tenants. Period.

I agree and would go further. We need a moratorium on all utility shutoffs, including Internet service. We need no collection actions for student loans, credit card debt, mortgages, or other debt held by a creditor with direct or indirect access to the Fed's loan facilities.

And rent? The moratorium on evictions is a gratuitous talking point when offices and courts are closed and it couldn't happen. And anyone who is struggling to pay rent right now won't be in the position to pay three months back rent once the moratorium is lifted.

of exposure. I told her I was suspending her rent and asked her if she could take unpaid leave so she wouldn't burn up her vacation to stay home from work. She can take unpaid leave, she also said she would make up the rent. I told her do not worry about it, /2
