Kamala...Frederick Douglass is from my town here in Rochester NY along with Susan B Anthony. Both buried here! He was celebrated today! And you are correct he picked today as his birthday as he didn’t know his birth date!

I highly recommend the Mt Hope Cemetary tour- it is unreal how much activism was centered in Rochester- opened my native west coaster eyes!
