If you support
#HandMarkedPaperBallots for most voters (exception for voters with disabilities who wish to use ballot marking devices), pls consider adding this hand/pen emoji
to your name in your profile and the #HandMarkedPaperBallots hashtag to your profile description. TY! - End of conversation

@jennycohn1 is who everyone should be following on all things election security.@amyklobuchar lead a landmark election security bill in May of last year addressing a host of security reqs. It had 38 cosponsors, including Senators Harris, Warren and Gillibrand.#WomenLead -
Unfortunately, Klobuchar’s bill was really lacking. Wyden’s bills (SAFE & PAVE) are the ones prioritizing hand marked paper ballots (by, among other things, banning DREs & most BMDs, except for voters w/ disabilities), risk limiting audits, a ban on internet connectivity, etc. 1/

We do not have a voter fraud problem other than gerrymandering, voter suppression, voter discrimination. The infinitesimal number of people without the right to vote have either been honest mistakes or a few Republicans. Let's focus on real voter problems.

Hand-marked paper ballots are oftentimes not acceptable for people with various disabilities, for various reasons. Embracing hand-marked paper ballots over other methods will only further isolate disabled voters and prevent them from excercising their constitutional right to vote
-
Under the law, there would be an exception for voters w/ disabilities who would be allowed to use an assistive ballot marking device if they choose. But due to security concerns, it is too dangerous to force all voters to use BMDs, as many officials are recklessly doing for 2020.
