Also the dignity we have earned. SS is not an entitlement, we pay for it.
Today eighty years ago, the first Social Security check was issued. Since then, Social Security has provided support to tens of millions of Americans. We should expand and strengthen it to give our nation’s seniors the dignity they deserve.

One thing I agree with, our elderly worked for their social security to live on and barely make enough to eat.

I have been paying for social security since I entered the job market at the age of 15. I want my money back - that was the bargain. I did not tacitly agree that the money I “loaned” the US government was convertible to a regressive tax. Otherwise, the USG is stealing my money.
