They had their chance in the House hearing. Senate trial is to try the findings and result of the hearing, not do the House's work for them after they pushed this through then held onto the articles for over a month.

Unfortunately, the Senate as a body hasn't had any integrity since Merrick Garland.

Actually the Senate lost its integrity when they tried to impeach Clinton for an affair. Or didn't listen to Anita hill. I'm sure I could think of a few more examples of it were earlier in the evening.
