She started a program called Back on Track that focused on education and jobs for low level drug offenders - recidivism rate dropped to 10% from 60% AND it saved $$$. Maybe do some research before you make comments next time

My happiest memories of childhood came from my public school's orchestra program. I was a gaslit, abused, disabled kid with no voice. My viola became my voice- it could sing my pain, my joy. I found myself in music. The program was cut for budget reasons after I graduated.

I was a band kid, that’s where I found my tribe. I now have two musician kids of my own, one band, one orchestra....music education in schools is so important.
