That's right - and the American Taxpayer will have to foot the bill for all of those prisons, guards, and upkeep! I'm sure the government could do the job better, cheaper and underbudget - said no taxpayer EVER!

I'm all for ending private prisons. But how can you do that on day 1? Wouldn't that mean a lot of prisoners go free? Or massive overcrowding if inmates are moved to other prisons? We don't have a ton of vacant federally-owned/run prisons, do we?

It would take years to close them all unless we were just taking control of the prisons staffed by for profit. But where would they find employees?
