Today marks seven years after my son, Jordan, was shot for playing his music. This is always the hardest day of the year for me. So this year, I want to share a letter I wrote to my son. Dear Jordan: [1/x]pic.twitter.com/wsxbNQ0vNV

As I read this,I was listening to “It’s Quiet Uptown” from Hamilton about his & his wife’s grief after their son is killed;it’s hard to stop crying. My parents lost their son (4 years old,a sudden illness). Unbearable pain they somehow bore. May Jordan’s memory be for a blessing.
After I read your tweet, I started listening to "It's Quiet Uptown" and yes, it is hard to stop crying. May @lucymcbath feel the love and support of all mothers and fathers today who cry with her and pray for her success in her fight for change. Thank you for all you do.
You are both strong brilliant women true inspirations

Thank you @lucymcbath, for choosing to produce power through your pain...for not simply “laying down and taking it”, for tapping into your greatness, and for serving as a role model for all who’ve experienced the sadness of losing a family member to gun violence. #RIPJordanpic.twitter.com/i0OH46egnw
