It’s amazing that we’re fighting for $15 in 2019- and even that is a minimum minimum to start at - considering 25$ is more likely a base “liveable wage”

I was thinking the same thing. By the time of this passes the time of 15 has come and gone. It's $25 at a minimum and that's being generous in some states.

Minimum wage should be local not federal. The living wages of new york and some tiny town in the midwest are nowhere near the same.

The poorest state is Mississippi. The average annual income in Mississippi is $43,529. $7.25/hour is $15,121 per year. $15/hour is $31,285 per year. The poverty line for a family of 4 is $25,100. All people deserve to be able to provide for their families and earn a living wage.

It’s a starter wage that most of us began with when we were young. Not every job is worth $15 an hour to start. Work your butt off, get an education and you can make much more than that.
-
That is a Koch-brother falsehood. Millions of people working non-starter jobs are LIVING off of minimum wage, and having to do extra hours / multiple jobs to do it.

Grandpa told me when I asked for a toolbox. "Have some personal responsibility. Always develop your skills. That is your toolbox."

Wow. Seems@like you’re out of touch with the real world.
