My mother is a California resident of 35+ years, last week at the DMV they refused her tribal ID and census number as a form of identification, she does not have a birth certificate, as she was born at home one the Navajo reservation. THIS IS NOT OK! #NativeLivesMatter
Too often Native Americans—like other communities of color—have been disenfranchised. As president, I’ll fight to pass the Native American Voting Rights Act. A tribal ID should be sufficient to vote. Period.

I’d like to add that she has an active California state ID but was trying to renew it to the “CA Real ID Card”

I see a LOT of people on here that have NO CLUE of the challenges that are faced by Native Americans with regards to modern day US Government. If you don't know, you shouldn't comment.
