Living in Oklahoma where there are multiple tribes, I think maybe you have this backwards and the federal government should reach out to tribes for ideas on how to improve. The tribes around here are pretty great to their people.

We've yet to have a President in modern times, or maybe EVER that really cared about the broken treaties, the abuse, torture, and genocide that the US Government has perpetrated on Native peoples. I would be amazed to see any President make reparations a priority!

Maybe start by calling them Native American or Indigenous instead of Indian. Just a thought.

I have NA friends who use and prefer the term Indian Country. We’ve spoken at length about this. Further, Harris used every different broad term (Indian Country, indigenous, and Native American) in a single tweet to be as inclusive as possible. I respect the hell out of that.
