non sense, if they aren't working for the company why the hell should the company fork out benefits to Non employee. these ppl made a choice to walk out, and here is the consequence of doing so. And i have no sympathy for ppl making upwards of $60+/hr including benes

That’s what industry did in early days of unionizing - threw workers out of company towns to punish them for seeking fair wages. This is 21st century equivalent.

The problem is that healthcare in this country isn't about health. It's about wealth. Until healthcare is a right, not a privilege that can be taken away or denied, then people are always going to lose out.

It's not really retaliation by GM. As a union member you know pre-strike that your health insurance is going to be canceled if your strike action goes beyond a certain number of days. The union is responsible for communicating this information to members.
