Mrs. Harris' parent's generation had to undergo nuclear attack drills in school, I remember doing it in the 70's as it was being phased out. How to get under a desk and what to do in the event of a nuclear attack. I was not traumatized by that. The kidz forget the history.

When these drills were happening, there had never actually been, and would never actually be a nuclear attack on American soil. In contrast, American schools have active shooter drills because, as of August 31, 335 people were killed in mass shootings. Your argument is invalid.

Kamala should be the front runner for our party! She is charismatic, kind, intelligent, energetic, & articulate. She embodies the diversity of the modern Democratic Party. Kamala has my vote! Proud Kamala was my AG & is my Senator!

Good point,
@KamalaHarris! It’s time to ban active-shooter drills They terrify normal students And likely give troubled students even more troubling ideas - 2 more replies

We are traumatizing our kids. My kids just assume it’s only a matter of time until it happens at their school. I did tornado drills at school. We are traumatizing our kids.

We did tornado drills too. And after we had a cat 4 tornado pass through our town when I was in elementary school my generation had mild ptsd reactions whenever there was a tornado warning. 45 years on a tornado siren still makes my anxiety level jump, although I'm outwardly calm

That’s not what America should be about. Imagine living in constant fear for “the next shooting”

As a child doing air raid drills and being constantly told nuclear annihilation could happen any minute, i was pretty scared. The world is a scary place, being prepared is strength.
