A bad reading of the 14th amendment. "birthright citizenship" is not guaranteed by the 14th. The key phrase is "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof" and the 14th was meant to guarantee former slaves their citizenship, not to grant it to the offspring of foreign aliens.
