I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer. Today I have finally learned the term for the relentless pain of witnessing her fade away, the quietly crying at night so she would not see, her talking up even when breathing was hard so nothing was left unsaid. Anticipatory grief.

It’s so horrible to see them lose every ounce on their body and you can see them slipping away daily, and in so much pain. I’m so, so sorry you had to go through that as well.
