Rather than promising raises, promise to make a public school teacher Secretary of Education, stop high stakes testing, limit class size, and spend money on giving schools resources they need. Stop promoting taking money away from public schools and giving them to charters!

Excellent! Yes! Teachers deserve better pay. Agreed! But what about the STUDENTS suffering in the K12 public school system? Will you ever tweet about them? Do they matter? Their

Money needs to go to students not administration centers, bloated contracts to purchase everything from pencils to computers, and standardized tests. Public schools are starving because of top heavy management.

I'm just curious as to how that would happen. Teachers wages are negotiated between their union and their district. How does the federal government dictate a paycheck they don't pay?

Not all states are unionized. Virginia is a non union state.
