I'm a teacher. I was against teachers concealing a weapon. I am now a mother and my views have changed tremendously. Not that I wouldnt protect my students bc I would take all the bullets for them. But now, I sure would shoot someone, too

Hope the books (or in some cases, iPads & Macbooks) are bulletproof, because kids aren't even allowed to carry backpacks to class in many schools. Even if they actually would stop bullets (which is questionable), this is little more than profiteering based on parents' fear.

Of my 9 Grandchildren, 7 are in school. I've no words to quantify the icy terror that's always lurking just behind my heart, that springs forward & clutches my heart when the words "shooter" comes across tv screen; how hard it is to just breathe until I learn it's not their town
