Obviously you are not a teacher and/or have no experience in the field. Elementary teachers are some of the hardest working people out there.

My mother taught for three decades, and we knew at the end of the summer, we’d be helping her pick out and pay for stuff her classroom needed that wasn’t in the public school budget. And she wasn’t the only teacher doing that.

Fact. My aunt just retired as a public school music teacher; in addition to buying her own classroom supplies, she also used to buy food and toothbrushes and soap and clothes to keep on hand for needy students in her elementary school...

My mom asked if I'd be reimbursed. I've taught for 28 years. I laughed and laughed and laughed. If my own mother doesn't get it I cant expect the general public to get it.

Teachers know exactly what they are going to be paid before they begin work. They can see exactly what they’re going to be paid many years in advance. And they have ways of increasing their income.
