Today would have been George Boyer Vashon’s birthday. He was the first African American lawyer to practice law in the state of New York. Among other things he was a great scholar, poet, and abolitionist. He became one of the founding fathers of Howard University. Remember both!

That is an absurd statement. Lynchings do happen. Not many but do. And not considered a hate crime still?? It’s a simple & should have been law.
