But it's not you who's giving workers a raise. You're simply holding a gun to employers' heads and forcing them to do it. Not to mention that many workers will simply see their hours reduced or worse, see their jobs disappear completely.
The House just voted to move forward with raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour. It’s time we give Americans the raise they deserve. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to bring this bill to the Senate floor.

Every penny of a $15 wage goes back into the economy. These are not people with offshore accounts visiting them on their private yachts. We all need this now.

Every penny of a government mandated minimum wage increase leads to the increase costs being passed on to the consumer. I have lived through 3 increases. Price increases negated any perceived increase.

This is awful economic policy. There’s no problem not understanding this fact but it’s inexcusable to not do a little homework.

Think of the employees at the millions of small businesses that now see new lesser experienced people come in at higher (relatively higher) base wages? What do they do, yup they demand HIGHER wages for same work it's a domino negative for business's which leads to fewer hires
