Seen it all before. Giant corporations from Du Pont to Big Banks to Big Pharma screw over the public, then are given a fine that's just chump change for them. The politicians brag that they're tough on the bad guys, then keep taking legalized bribes from them. And so it goes.

No one went to jail. Which was the same problem on a federal level that let big banks just get bigger, richer, and more controlling with a bigger army of lobbyists. Because you can't really "take on corporate interests" if you share those interests through your donors.
