That's why I don't understand why a lot of of young black Americans especially men don't vote. The sacrifices these great individuals made to give us that right.

The world lost a remarkable man 56 years ago when civil rights activist Medgar Evers was assassinated. His continued fight throughout his life to end segregation in Mississippi and secure our right to vote serves as an inspiration to this day.

Black women brought us Obama. Black women brought us the Blue Wave to take back the house. Imagine if the Black community would rise up together as the extremely powerful force their are and flood every voting booth every election. They could remake the entire nation.

The assassination was devastating.I was in Toronto & my Aunt took me to a Harry Belefonte concert on a Thursday night; I read about the murders in the am paper. Belefonte was brilliant, professional and connected, but quite shaken. .You could feel it. Racism is pure evil
