In my off hours I spend a lot of time with special needs kids & their teachers. This is a real concern that we have discussed. Sheltering in place being exceedingly quiet or moving quickly to a safe haven is a unique challenge for those with cognitive impairment & their teachers.

This is why I support you! My son has achondroplasia and I am constantly worried for how he will manage when/if violence breaks out in his school or other situations. Keep fighting for our kids! They deserve it!

Also for the teachers of these special needs children. I.E.: Two of my daughters. How would they protect these kids; move them to safety; keep them quiet? The last one is a major concern.

Yeah, fits right in with this teachers having guns idea.

While this is absolutely an important issue, the article neglected to mention the scores of children with higher needs, such as those with Developmental and Cognitive Disabilities, who may be medically fragile or cognitively unable to process the situation and few staff to help.
