Thank you for highlighting this. As someone who knew Sylvia Rivera, who participated with the New York Young Lords Party, and who met Marsha Johnson via STAR - I think it is important that their pioneering activism be honored, emulated and never forgotten.

Breaks my heart. I grew up in redneck country but I was taught that love is love. Seeing the injustices in SF really made an impression on me. I wrote my thesis on homophobia and I’m proud to have raised two enlightened kids.
