Putting people in prison should NOT be a commercial enterprise. Prisons for profit is just flat out wrong.

This is an idiotic argument. The government sends people to prison. Therefore, the government has a vested interest in sending more people to its prisons. If government has to pay private prisons, there is an incentive on both parties to minimize costs.

No... This is exactly wrong. That's not how it works, at all. How does the government have an interest in sending more people to prisons? That makes it cost more money. Private prisons are incentivized to increase prison populations in order to earn more money.
