Brava Erica. She came all the way back from dropping out at 15, pregnant, to a Masters’ in counseling. What an honoring of her parents to pose in the tomato fields where they picked together. When you see proof of the American dream, it is so very heartening in these dark times.

It’s an inspiring story, but it also pushes this narrative that you “NEED TO GO TO COLLEGE” to (a) be successful and (b) make money. Sadly, she picked a major where she isn’t going to make more than a garbage man
