As California’s Attorney General, I made ending the rape kit backlog a priority. In 2012 we cleared the backlog of unexamined kits, so more sexual assault survivors received justice. It’s time our nation did the same.

I think every single person in the United States should donate their DNA to a database so we can find more criminals and rapists. I think every baby that is born their DNA should go into a database. There’s no harm and no foul that way we can prevent more crimes in the future.
