Our sick care system makes more money when we keep the population sick. This includes women. They are sicker before they get pregnant and then have worse outcomes. We need to distribute health care, housing, education, and fair wages equitibly. Then preg outcomes will improve.
Health equity for Black women can only happen if we recognize and address persistent biases in our health system. Again, I agree with you! Had Blacks actually gotten their freedom & been treated fairly after slavery was abolished, things would be much different! Even today, blacks are not given equal opportunity to education and employment & that’s why many have fallen behind. Such a shame!
