Stop educating half of Central America and everyone will get a better education and we can afford to pay our teachers.

Again, not the focus. But if you want to go there, you can expect far more immigrants, civil unrest, and military engagement south of our southern border.

States and local communities should control public education NOT the Feds! Cost of living varies from state to state. $13k increase would be BIG in a state like Mississippi and a joke here in CA which is a HIGH cost state.

At least $13,000 is $13,000 more than any of us get now.

Teachers are already up to the ears in "professional development" and "training" yet most are already highly qualified. This support ends up being "believe this new trendy theory because the guy at the top thinks it's great," & by the end of the year they're onto something new.

1) Teachers salaries used to be high when men dominated the teaching profession. Like in so many other jobs, the pay decreases as more women join that profession
-
When did men dominate the profession? I didn’t have a male teacher until I was in 8th grade, other than PE. Most schools I’ve worked in are tilted towards more women employees and even admin. The only good admin I ever worked for was a woman & the rest can’t come close to her!

Please educate us. What legal authority would allow you to promise teachers with a pay raise of $13,500. Isn’t teacher compensation funded by property taxes and then controlled by the educational boards of the counties?

She knows congress like LBJ. She can work with them to legislate. And with her on the ticket, the congress constitution would be thanks to her.
