just make a bill were national health care insurances are not allowed to exceed 5% profit range. Problem solved.

For as long as insurance companies can finance political campaigns that's not going to happen.

Just a reminder from someone living on SS: Medicare only covers 80% medical bills. If you can't afford suplimental insurance and you have an accident, a serious illness, or need surgery, that remaining 20% can quickly add up to a lot of money that you can't pay.

There is also Advantage plans that can also help take over for part A and B,and usually includes part D. The only thing is, you would have copays for dr visits, but you would have a MOOP with the plan. Most HMO plans have a $0 premium, and the PPO plans would have a monthly premium

When my daughter was born in 2009 we had a 20k out of pocket insurance with my job and a 40k salary. We hit max on day 2 - she was a NICU preemie. By 17 days old she had hit 75% of her lifetime maximum and we had to file bankruptcy. We can’t go back to that.

The next thing that needs to be done with healthcare is for government to set reasonable prices per procedure. Look at Japan. Everyone must have insurance and those cannot afford are provided community insurance. MRIs in Japan are under $100.
