It’s past time our leaders recognize that our country faces a mental health crisis. I introduced legislation in the Senate to increase access to mental health care services and will continue to make it a priority when elected president.

And fund psychiatric hospitals properly, making sure the hospitals are not mistreating/ignoring, etc the patients, and that the patients have properly qualified nurses, doctors, etc helping them

As a mental health professional I think it's ridiculous how much clients must pay out of pocket unless they have top tier insurance. Mental health care should be accessible to everyone with no barriers and focused on prevention.

Fixing the disparity between how insurance companies reimburse for physical ailments vs. mental ailments would be a good start. No one should be charged more for seeing a doctor to treat depression than seeing a doctor to treat cancer.
