Funny the teachers I've known are far from that...conveyor belt mentality not invested in the quality of teaching given, lack of empathy with kids that are challenged - what we need is performance based income. Filter out the bad ones!!
My first-grade teacher, Mrs. Wilson, sparked my love for learning and became a lifelong mentor and friend. She even attended my law school graduation. There are Mrs. Wilson’s all across this country who deserve a raise. It’s time we give them one.

Not much the federal government can do about state teachers salaries. Those are funded primarily by each state from the taxes legal citizens pay.

The Fed can easily institute a merit-based supplemental wage for registered teachers in PUBLIC schools. Administrators can answer a semi-annual questionare, which, along with inflation & any certified advanced coursework, could determine the level of supplement given.

Mrs Wilson my 4th grade teacher helped an abused girl with no self worth win 2 county spelling bees and went with me to 2 state competitions. She made me feel for the first time that I wasn't a failure.
