It’s kind of people to sacrifice their own sick days but really .... it’s absolutely pathetic that they would need to. We as society need to care for the sick and in need —- including the cancer ridden children of our neighbors.

So true. We have a program for state employees in Minnesota for vacation donation. We also now have paid parental leave. Not much help for me, but paid family leave would have been nice as I managed work/life balance caring for my parents in the last years of their lives.

I have worked for 3 different hospital healthcare systems and it has always struck me as ironic and hypocritical that their employees have to beg other employees to donate time off in a medical emergency

I was just going to comment that as a nurse, I have donated many PEP hours, as we call them, to other employees who have sick fam members or who are injured. Shouldn't have to. Shouldnt have to have go fund me pages either.
