I know teachers that have quit to become bartenders & they make more doing that job. Students are losing out on a good education because lawmakers don’t value educators & the selfless contributions they make to society. Prisons are being filled & classrooms are being vacated
The neglect of our public school system has probably largely contributed to where we are today.

We have a chronic teacher shortage here in Southern Nevada with an education funding formula from 1967. We are in a 3 year pay freeze negotiated by our union. Some of our schools are falling apart. Education funding won't be fixed anytime soon. And many more are leaving ASAP.
That’s a state and local issue. The state are given federal block grant money... They need to use it wisely. Not a federal issue. Stop trying to Nationalize the Education System...
Everything is incentivized to move educators out of the classroom. Administration pays much more and the hours are much less. You don't come out of pocket as much, etc. Real value has to be placed on those who deal DIRECTLY with instructing students every day.
DeVos and the #CNP plan is to gut public education and privatize it, part of their larger goals to create a white “christian” patriarchal nation. Harder to do that with an educated population.
