How about we also push for the return of shop, Voc Ed and programs like band that give kids an outlet? Our schools suck. No wonder we get flat earthers and antivaxxers.

With minimal research this is total BS https://nces.ed.gov/programs/digest/d99/d99t080.asp … http://www.nea.org/home/2017-2018-average-starting-teacher-salary.html … on average they make over 6K more than 30 yrs ago. I expect more from elected officials.

REAL wages, not nominal wages. You have to factor out inflation. Rising healthcare premiums hurt. Last year I got a $1000 raise. My insurance went up $820. My question is, how? I work in a Title I school where 60% of our students live in poverty. Fed $ is only 10% of our budget

Does this include Early Childhood Education teachers? Because the education requirements are, rightly, getting higher but the pay is barely enough for people to live.
