Black women in America are far more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than others. This is a public health crisis. My resolution to recognize Black Maternal Health Week highlights the disparities that exist in maternal health care and fights for a solution.

I brought this up a while ago in conversation and I got blank stares. No one knows about/cares that this is happening; which is simply shocking. This is a problem that is emblomatic with the rural access to health care. Huge price increases, very little oversight. Has to be fixed

It cuts across all soci economic levels within black women. Serena Williams tells her story. My story is that I had and have great access to healthcare and prenatal care. First son stillborn. 2nd son and I nearly died. Many stories have been shared about this crisis.
