Respectfully, pay is a minor part of the frustration with teaching (everyone knows you aren’t getting rich in the job). Improve workload, support, class size, and student discipline and you’ll see more people stay in the profession.

Yes- lower class size and provide a full-time co-teacher if there are 8 students with an IEP in the room. Also, up to date materials and technology. P.S.- Go Padres!

It’s not only the money. It’s the total lack of respect from parents, sometimes admin, AND students. I almost never feel truly appreciated and that affects my day to day.

Yes, we teach for a purpose, and that deserves respect. In this county, we show our value through money. Pay teachers and watch the attitude change. Both need to happen!

As a former teacher (13 years in the classroom) it’s not just about pay. It’s also about ending state testing, smaller class size, fewer preps, more time to collaborate with peers, and less admin type responsibilities. Stop managing down and let me teach!

Supporting teaching, in addition to funding schools and materials, is ESSENTIAL to a great nation and a happy future. Teachers get shit pay in this country, yet we trust them to help bring up our kids. This country has so much fucking money. Let's stop letting them blow it on war

She gave the details when she introduced the plan. You can probably google it but I believe it’s similar to the way Medicaid expansion works. The fed govt would contribute some and the states would be incentivized to contribute as well.
