Yes and... Don't forget about the teachers caring for our youngest citizens (birth - 5 years old), many of whom are not in public school settings. They face even lower pay for supporting children and families during the most critical time for brain development

@KamalaHarris, Before you redirect our attention, can you please explain why you are showcasing a meeting with representatives of AIPAC, which supports an apartheid state and seeks treasonously to purchase influence in Congress for a foreign power? -
Thank you for posting this. When I read this earlier I was very disturbed. I do not wish to see dems accepting monies from AIPAC at all; nor any other lobbying group or PACs.

Why don’t we start with school districts that spend there way into the red? Why not make school districts pay teachers before they fund new football fields new gyms, assistants to the assistants of the assistants! Accountability at the district levels leaves more $ for teachers
-
Because our education system should have both great facilities and liveable wages for teachers.

When 40% of the work force in the richest country in the world earn minimum wage or lower, it is time for a major overhaul of our entire economic system. Greed at the top perverts capitalism. And, I am fricken sick of it!! Voting Republican is voting stupid.

And early childhood educators/childcare providers.... we care for kids during the extremely important years of 1-4, and we get treated and paid like we’re little more than baby-sitters.
-
Agreed, childcare costs and labor on the providers is out of control. I am not a fan of government interference but this systems needs to be assisted. It isn't right for parents to be paying 1000+ a month per child and for the providers to be paid so low and treated poorly.

Stay in your lane, sir. I do far more than educate every day. I’m not sure why it’s a negative to be a partner with the person who spends so much time with your children. You have no idea how much we are involved in their lives outside of instruction.
