I wouldn’t say “in large part,” but I would say “in part.” Parents are by far the largest influence in children’s lives.

Don’t get me wrong but all teachers are not great,, and can also destroy a child’s dream, example: scoring bad on a math test, response by teacher: leave now and go get a job packing groceries because that is all you’ll ever be able to do, and I believed him !!! Humiliated!!

Yeah, my teachers had no impact on me. No inspiration, nor lessons learned. Whatever little I achieved was from learning on my own and meeting other people.

No one I know can name more than one good teacher they had over their entire life. I’m talking about PhD’s, which means they’ve had cumulatively more teachers than anyone, and they all can name ONE good teacher. Sad.
