the average salary of a public school teacher is $56k a year. that $5,600 a month considering teachers usually only work 10 months a year. they have all holidays off and extended breaks as well. btw, I thought teachers didn't do it for the money?

Then once our buildings are cleaned, we begin preparations for open house!! Many times we attend professional learning to sharpen our crsft!! No, we DO NOT HAVE the entire summer off!! Oh, and did I mention shopping for school supplies to stock our classrooms!!

Do not forget other school employees. We all work for children and are not compensated competitively. Principals to counselors, librarians to lunch staff

I really wish y’all would list other helping professions along with this. I love my teachers. I appreciate everything they do but there is a team of professionals that works with youth that should be included in this mix
